Santa Clarita Valley Sand Fire July 2016
July 23, 2016: Evacuation orders were issued to Sand Canyon and Placerita Canyon via L.A.F.D.
Over 1,500 homes are threatened by this fire.
Not helping is Southern California’s drought and temperatures in Santa Clarita which are 106 degrees. These factors, along with high winds, basically made the place go up like a box of matches.
By Saturday air quality in LA was poor and visibility is being reduced. Ashes were falling in Burbank, Corona and Downey.
