July 2 2016 Los Angeles DUI Checkpoints
July 4th weekend is here and 2016 is unfortunately going to be one of the deadliest. How do we know this? July 4th weekend is already one of the deadliest times to be on the road in Los Angeles, and this July 4th there are going to be a LOT of people on the roads.
July 2 2016 checkpoints
There are going to be several surprise checkpoints around the outskirts of the city. These are checkpoints that have no been announced. Should checkpoints even be announced to begin with?
Driving while intoxicated is one of the, if not the most, preventable dangers on the road. Some drivers in Los Angeles are out enjoying fireworks with their families. Of course, there are other people on the road partying who could simply be taking an Uber, Lyft or Taxicab home.
Two checkpoints we know about are:
- Van Nuys Boulevard and Remick Avenue in Pacoima
- Van Nuys Boulevard and Roscoe Boulevard in Panorama City.
LA weekly has a complete list for the rest of the July 4th weekend, too.
If you have been hit by a drunk driver
People injured in car accidents by drunk drivers are eligible to receive punitive damages. Additionally some are able to not only hold the driver and their insurer liable, they can also hold the people who served them liable; this is called dram shop liability. If you have been in such an accident contact a car accident lawyer in Los Angeles today.
