Northbound Interstate 5 Shut Down After Single-Car Crash September 10 2020
In the early afternoon on Thursday, September 10, 2020, a solo-car crash caused a full closure of northbound Interstate 5 in Gorman.
Officials state that the vehicle crashed just before noon, colliding with an embankment and overturning. At least one individual suffered serious injuries, and multiple eyewitnesses claimed that they saw someone ejected from the vehicle.
The incident brought two helicopters to respond, temporarily shutting down the interstate. At least two lanes were blocked for 90 minutes.
Four patients were treated on the scene, three of which were considered to be in critical condition. It is also believed that a Pitbull was involved in the crash, and Animal Control did respond on the scene as well, though no immediate information about the dog’s condition has been released.
This story is still being investigated, so more details are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
