One Firefighter Injured In Car Crash Near Thousand Oaks
A collision close to Thousand Oaks sent one firefighter to a nearby hospital on November 14, 2018.
According to CBS Los Angeles, this crash happened on the Pacific Coast Highway just before noon. Allegedly, the driver of a Dodge Ram struck a firefighter who was resting near a fire truck by Deer Creek Road.
When emergency crews arrived on the scene they immediately airlifted the crash victim to a local hospital. Thankfully, doctors believe this firefighter will survive his injuries.
The area in which this crash occurred was officially an evacuation zone for the Woolsey Fire. Local authorities urge all citizens in California to regularly check the Cal Fire online portal at http://www.fire.ca.gov/current_incidents for the latest updates on wildfires and mandatory evacuations.
As of today, the Woolsey Fire is just over 55 percent contained. Since this fire broke out last week, three people have died and about 98,000 acres have been destroyed.
