Woman Shot to Death Found in Crashed Car in Paramount CA

Early Tuesday morning, October 6, 2020, a woman was found shot to death in a crashed SUV off the 710 Freeway in Paramount. The driver fled the scene and remains at large.

According to CBS Los Angeles and the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 1:50 a.m. near the Rosecrans Avenue onramp to the 710 Freeway.

When CHP officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman with a gunshot wound inside the SUV. The woman’s name has not been released, but she is believed to have been in her 20s or 30s. She died at the scene.

A handgun was recovered from the scene, and according to the LA County Sheriff’s Department, a man was spotted fleeing the vehicle. Lt. Barry Hall stated, “What probably happened is they became involved in an altercation inside the car. At about that time the shot was fired, the woman was struck by gunfire. And as a result, the driver crashed.”

A nearby resident reported that a man came to her door and knocked, asking for help, and then ran away. It’s believed that this man is the driver. The suspect has not been identified, and a motive has not been released.
